CAREB is the largest and the oldest state chapter of National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), which is the largest and the oldest minority real estate trade association in the U.S. The “Be the Change” virtual conference is part and puzzle of NAREB’s 2 Million New Black Homeowners in 5 years (2Mn5) Program initiative which targets to further boost Democracy in Housing, which is NAREB’s motto.

Be the Change.

As the theme of the conference suggests, “Be the Change,” it is time we stopped sitting around and waiting for help to come our way. The issue of racial disparities in homeownership has been prevailing for long enough. Time has come to face the challenge, and do something to bring a change.

It’s time we stopped waiting on our leaders to make things right. Wherever and whoever you are, you can be the change that ends the side-lining of African-Americans and other minorities in homeownership. You don’t have to be rich to bring the change. You can also be the change by first changing your mindset and talking sense to those engaging in promoting racial disparities in homeownership.

This virtual conference is a call to action to every African-American out there. You can be the change. No matter how hard CAREB and NAREB work to promote democracy in housing, the only person who can bring real change is you. CAREB and NAREB will only work to level the grounds and advocate for a fair playfield for Black homeownership but without your personal effort, all that could be for nothing. We should all take it as a personal obligation to be the change. Change starts with you.

You can get tickets to the conference here.
