RIPCO Real Estate (RIPCO), the leading independent retail brokerage in the tri-state, with services including leasing, investment sales and property management and debt and structured finance, is proud to announce its growth in the cannabis market. The team will be focusing on representing both tenants and landlords looking to lease space that specializes in recreational and medicinal marijuana sales throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The brokerage is currently servicing 35 clients within the cannabis sector, with 125,000 square feet of space secured across the tri-state area.
RIPCO team members, Colby Piper of New Jersey, Darrin Chandler Jr. of New Jersey, Lisa Ricca of New Jersey, Melissa Montemuino of New Jersey, Lisa Daniel of Connecticut and Greg Batista of New York City and the outer boroughs will be focusing on cannabis-related deals.
“We are excited to continue growing the cannabis division throughout the tri-state area, especially as the industry is seeing an increase in marijuana licenses,” said Piper, cannabis real estate specialist at RIPCO. “This division not only offers communities with a new form of retail, it is also providing us with the opportunity to expand recruiting opportunities for RIPCO, targeting individuals who are truly interested in learning more about the space as a new form of retail.”
Piper, known as the “Green Guru” in the commercial real estate sector, is currently part of the Ganjier Cannabis Sommelier program, which will give him the highest certification in the cannabis field. Piper is also a founder of 420CANNect, a cannabis-focused networking group.
Chandler Jr. has been a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey for ten years and has closed millions of dollars in sales. In 2016, Chandler Jr. formed a cannabis consulting company named Premium Genetics, where he provided consulting and branding services to top-tier cannabis companies in the Denver, Colorado cannabis market.
Within the 125,000 square feet of secured activity, 21,600 square feet was for medicinal cannabis deals in New Jersey. The division is also working with multiple, multi-state operators (MSOs) in Manhattan, New Jersey and Connecticut to complete deals.
In addition to RIPCO’s work on the East Coast, the firm understands the demand for the cannabis division from the West Coast and has teamed up with Arizona-based Zoned Properties, a national real estate development firm for emerging and highly regulated industries including legalized cannabis. This partnership will allow both firms to assist clients in expanding their cannabis business along both East and West Coasts.
