October was a rough month for residential home sales, according to the latest statistics released by the Pueblo Association of Realtors.
Volatile inflation and interest rates have taken a toll on home sales. Just 238 homes sold in October, compared with 387 last October, a decrease of 38.5%.
October home sales brought in $69.7 million, down from $107.2 million in October of 2021, a decrease of 35%. The median home price in October was $291,815, down from $315,000 in September.
Colorado City KOA earns 2 prestigious awards
Kampgrounds of America Inc. announced Wednesday that the Pueblo South/Colorado City KOA Holiday Campground, 9040 I-25 South, has earned the 2023 KOA President’s Award and the KOA Founder’s Award.
The campground, which features RV and tent camping sites, cabins, a hot tub and a miniature golf course, is owned by Rubens and Helena Salles. It is open year-round and employs eight workers.
“The President’s and Founder’s awards are based on customer reviews and our yearly inspection,” Rubens Salles said. “We got a perfect score again this year with the maximum points you can receive.”
“This is our sixth year getting a perfect score. The staff’s hard work pays off, and it shows with the reviews and awards we receive,” Salles said.
The awards were presented Tuesday at Kampgrounds of America Inc.’s annual International Convention in Orlando, Flordia.
“Our campground owners and their employees work tirelessly to ensure every guest has a truly exceptional camping experience,” said Toby O’Rourke, president and chief executive officer of Kampgrounds of America Inc.
Pueblo Community Health Center wins clinical performance award
Pueblo Community Health Center has been awarded the Health Center Quality Leader designation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The award recognizes the highest performing health centers nationwide, and Pueblo’s centerachieved the best overall clinical performance among health centers nationally, placing in the top10% for clinical quality measures. Only four of the 20 health centers in the state achieved the award.
“We pursue the highest quality of service throughout the organization to optimize the care every patient receives and in a manner consistent with our core values,” said Lynne Evetts, director of quality.
Pueblo Community Health Center, headquartered at 110 E. Routt Ave., provides care to those in need, including mental health, dental and medical care as well as pharmacy services in settings ranging from community clinics and school-based wellness clinics to a center serving people experiencing homelessness.
