The Power is Now

Peacock Real Estate dedicated to educating next generation of realtors, agents – The Pioneer

MECOSTA COUNTY — Educating new generations of people interested in the real estate business is paramount to one local real estate business that has been at work planning and hosting community events around the career.

Peacock Real Estate recently hosted its monthly Career Night for those interested in learning more about how to get into the real estate profession and avenues to connect with locals working in the business.

Mary Peacock, owner, broker and realtor at the agency, said the hour-long monthly event is aimed at helping educate new prospective real estate novices.

“We have interested parties and basically just go over how to get into the real estate career,” Peacock said, “what it looks like to be successful in the real estate career and setting themselves up for success. Education is always important, regardless of what career you choose. Always educating yourself on what the field has to offer and how you can contribute back to your own community plus your family is very important.”

Peacock Real Estate will be hosting another informational event for the community, its monthly Mastermind Night, from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Red Bird Bistro at 22 N. Main St. NE in Cedar Springs. This month’s Mastermind Night’s featured keynote speaker is Tom Cronkright from Sun Title who will be teaching on wire fraud.

Peacock said Cronkright brings a wealth of knowledge in the dangers of wire fraud.

“He has spent endless hours getting the word out about wire fraud and how it has affected a lot of people and how everybody can be protected from that,” Peacock said. “He has partnered with the Secret Service. Hackers have been very smart about disguising themselves as a real estate agent, or as title agencies and have taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from victims, and it’s all over the United States. Tom has made it a mission to get the education out about how serious this is, and how to protect yourself from being a victim.

“If you’ve ever thought about purchasing real estate or you know, selling real estate, there’s a lot of variables that go into that,” she added, “With that is obviously protecting yourself partnering with a real estate expert advisor that has also educated themselves to protect you as a consumer because that’s our No. 1 priority.”
