Fred Sassen, a former chef, restaurant owner and real estate investor, has joined the Main Street-Sarasota office of Michael Saunders & Company.
Sassen graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, in San Francisco. He was chef of one of the top restaurants in the Bay area for seven years, before he and his wife opened their own fine dining restaurant in Oakland, California.
He has been investing in Sarasota real estate for the past four years.
Sassen is excited to be joining the Michael Saunders & Company team and working alongside his aunt, Barbara Sassen May, a seasoned agent and longtime Sarasota resident.

Marianne LeBar has joined the Sarasota Central office of Coldwell Banker.
LeBar has lived in Sarasota since 1989, giving her a truly in-depth knowledge of the area. She was formerly broker/owner of her own real estate company, which she oversaw while building and investing in several homes located in Sarasota’s coveted West of Trail area.
In 2002, she transitioned to broker/associate and has consistently been a top producing agent.
LeBar specializes in all areas of Sarasota and Manatee counties.
She has advanced her real estate knowledge by earning multiple professional real estate designations, including Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and Certified International Property Specialist.
She is district vice president for the Florida Council of Residential Specialists.
