NAREB’s President-Elect Lydia Pope Shines A Spotlight On
The Spring Policy Conference 2021

RIVERSIDE, CALIF. — May 10, 2021. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected so many lives and its effects will continue to be felt for decades to come. Minority communities in the country are the most affected by this pandemic and to completely heal, will take some time. The National Association of Real Estate Broker’s Spring Policy Conference is a special event that seeks to highlight the economic impact of the Pandemic on the Black Community. The event will happen virtually from May 11 to May 13, 2021. This Economic perspective will cover the following:
- Ways to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on Black Housing.
- Federal Reserve bank, the potential impact of H.R. 2123 and H.R. 2543.
- Artificial Intelligence, Black People, and Mortgage Lending.
Speaking at the Real Estate Roundtable with Eric Lawrence Frazier MBA, about this year’s Spring Policy was Lydia Pope, the 2021 President-Elect of NAREB who had this to say;
“Our intentions for our policy conference is to talk about issues and challenges, on behalf of our state of housing and black America report that we put out every year, some of the items that we pulled from that is student loan debt, Housing appraisals, mortgage lending practices, like loan level pricing adjustment, as well as access to credit and down payment and that’s part of what will be happening within our policy conference.”
Lydia M. Pope has been in the real estate industry since 1995 and is currently president
and owner of E & D Realty and Investment Co, Inc., E&D Realty Property Management & New Era Real Estate Group Inc. She obtained her MBE (Minority Business Enterprise), SBE (Small Business Enterprise), DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprises) & WBE (Women Business Enterprise) certifications.
Currently, Lydia is President-Elect of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc., (NAREB) as only the third woman to hold the office in the minority real estate trade association’s 74-year history. Earlier, she served in other positions including President of the Cleveland Realtist® Association, President of the National Women’s Council of NAREB, and on the advisory board of NID HCA non-profit organization.
