The Power is Now

Compass Real Estate – Houston Chronicle

Luxury real estate firm Compass Real Estate has snagged a new key leader for its high-profile River Oaks area office as the firm continues to grow in Houston.

The residential real estate brokerage has hired veteran real estate professional Theresa Hill as sales manager helping to lead 300 agents at its Westheimer office just outside of River Oaks, the firm announced Thursday.

Hill currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Houston Association of Realtors and most recently came from Greenwood King Properties. With more than 25 years of experience under her belt, Hill will help to advise hundreds of agents in Houston alongside sales manager Cheri Fama and Houston Managing Director Seita Jongebloed.

“The Houston real estate market is currently in a state of constant change. Theresa, with her depth of experience and professional credentials, will provide valuable insight as Compass Houston navigates this complex market for the benefit of our clients,” Jongebloed said in an email.

The brokerage focuses primarily on the luxury real estate sector, which like the rest of the housing market, is starting to show signs of slowing as the pandemic boom wanes. Sales of homes priced above $1 million fell by about 2.3 percent in June, the latest month available, according to data from Houston Association of Realtors. However, Jongebloed said Compass is still seeing plenty of business and noted last week that the firm closed on a $15 million sale in the River Oaks area.

“There are definitely buyers in the Houston market for luxury and ultra-luxury properties,” Jongebloed said.

Since entering the Houston market in 2018, Compass has grown to encompass 900 real estate agents across five offices in the region, including locations in The Heights, The Woodlands, Katy and Memorial in addition to the Westheimer location.

“The real estate market is rapidly shifting and Compass is at the forefront of that shift,” said Hill. “Compass is not only fast and innovative, but offers all of the tools that agents need to succeed in the evolving market.”
